Signed up for DEP on December 10, 1988. Then I began active duty on August 1, 1989 to November 13, 1991 with a tour over in Southwest Asia. Afterwards, I joined the Illinois National Guard until December 29, 1996.

4 Years active duty in Alaska; 4 years at Eglin AFB, Fla; 12 years with Georgia Air National Guard in Atlanta, Ga.
Currently in 25th year as Captain, on B-777, flying International for Delta Air Lines.

Joined after 1964 college graduation.Took initial training at Ft. Knox Ky, then went back to reserve unit which was disbanded in 1967 and elected to go into the ready reserve pool. This resulted to my being activated in 1968 spending a year at Ft. Sheridan near Great Lakes Naval training center in Chicago and 6 months in Viet Nam from June to December of 1969 Saw no combat in Viet Nam as I was a Operations Clerk with the 15th Engineer Co. Replaced someone who was killed from what I was told. Discharged honorably in 1970. Rejoined reserves in mid '70's and honorable discharged from there in late '70's.
