About	VIRGINIA BEACH - Diane Nobles Taylor, 51, passed away on December 12, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Edward C. Taylor; her son, Dylan Taylor; step-daughters Meghan and Liz Taylor; and her father, Lewis Ray Nobles. She is also survived by her sister; Suzanne Nobles Barnes (Kevin); her mother and father-in-law, Edward and Julie Taylor; her brother and sister-in-law, Clinton and Kathy Pai, two nieces, Erinn Barnes and Julianna Pai, and four nephews, Ian Barnes (Caitlin), Clinton Pai (Bridgett), Seth Pai and Isaiah Pai. She was predeceased by her mother, Betty S. Nobles. Diane was born and raised in Newport News, Va., and graduated from Menchville High School in 1980. She graduated from Old Dominion University and taught String Orchestra in the Virginia Beach school system, including many years at her beloved Kempsville Middle School. Music was a great love of her life, and she was a very gifted violinist. Diane began playing violin at age 5, and played with the Chapman Youth Ensemble for many years, playing with that group at the Royal College of Music in London and the Purbeck Music Festival in England when she was 9 years old. She attended a summer session of the Julliard School of Music during high school, and was a concert mistress of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra. Diane was a member of numerous orchestras, including the William and Mary Orchestra, the Christopher Newport Orchestra, The Virginia Beach Pops, and the Virginia Beach Symphony. She worked in the Music Shop in Colonial Williamsburg, and her favorite job was as the violinist for the Italian Show at Busch Gardens. Diane loved the beach and lived for her summer trips to Rodanthe. She also loved to read, cook, and everything to do with Christmas. She gave up performing to be a wife, mother, and teacher. She was an amazing teacher, who loved her profession and her students. Her greatest love was for her family, and she was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of them all. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.at Peninsula Funeral Home in Newport News. A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Newport News, with interment to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.
