The class of 1969 is having a "casual type get together" reunion at Blackbirds Grille in Sayville on July 12, 2014. It is a pay as you go reunion, so no huge expenses to send in ahead of time. We are also inviting the classes that were closest to us, such as 1967, '68' 70' 71' 72....and so on. Blackbirds has great food, full liquor bar and a great party atmosphere. We really would like everyone to come to this one, as it may not be too many years from now that we can't all come back to town at once and get together again. We are trying to keep it casual so that no one has to put together a lot of cash for it, especially if they are flying into town for the reunion. Oh, and just because the event says 4 - 7 p.m., doesn't mean that we can't hang out the rest of the evening....the bar is open late. That is just the time that they put aside for the reunion party. I hope y'all can come to it....but I really do need some people to start RSVP'ing, as Blackbirds wants a continuous update on the amount of people that are coming to this event. This reunion started out as a reunion for the class of 1969....However, it has been noted that many people would like to extend the invitation to other classes that we were close to around the same time. (ie..class of '70, '68, 67, 71, 72) Why not? It was a great time in our lives, and to me, its the more the merrier. We are keeping it very casual, so as to keep everyone's cost down....(for those of you who are flying in) Just because the time says from 4 - 7, it doesn't mean that the party has to end....the establishment just chose those particular hours to devote to the reunion itself....but we can all stay and party some more after that. They are open late. They have great food there, and a full liquor bar. The manager would like us to keep them up to date on how many people are coming, so if y'all could RSVP as soon as you know, that would be awesome. C'mon....join the fun. Ya know ya wanna!! :-)
