About	MENKENS Robin Lynn Menkens, 49, passed away August 12 at her sister's home in Orange Park, Florida. "R.L" graduated from Bay Shore High School, Bay Shore, N.Y. in 1976. She married Heiko Menkens, a quality assurance engineer with Mercedes Benz Corporation. Together they enjoyed assignments in Germany, South Africa, and most recently, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Robin's tales of vacations throughout Europe and Africa were the highlights of every party and reunion, inspiring the imagination of her many friends. Always quick with a smile, she was also an inspiration to her fellow cancer patients, freely sharing her triumphs and challenges. Robin is survived by Heiko, daughter Bethany, step daughters Sabrina and Lousia, sister Sharon Gensch (Dan), brother Brian (Debbie) and the many other relatives, friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched. Her passing was preceded by that of her parents, Georgina and Donald Bennett. Viewing is from 5-7 PM on Friday, August 15th at the Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Florida. The funeral service is at 11 AM on Saturday, August 16th, at the Switzerland Community Church, 2179 State Road 13, Switzerland, Florida. Very special thanks to all who assisted in Robin's care, particularly the staff of the Mayo Clinic's Oncology unit.
