| About Me | To start off went to College for 2 yrs and then worked in Houston at One Shell Plaza. Got married in 1971 to Mike Gassen in Bay City. We have been married, let me see, 36 yrs, will be 37 in September. We have one son Michael Gassen Jr. that lives and works in Austin. He has a daughter Taylor, our wonderful 10y old granddaughter. She just finished playing Basketball and loving it. Got a goal put up here on the Ranch now. She will be here for the summer with us. She loves the animals and feeding and caring for all of them, especially Shadow our Paint horse. Just had 5 new kittens born so I'm sure she'll have fun with them as well. Mike still works as Superintendent of Plant 3 at Shintech in Freeport. He has been there over 30 yrs now. We enjoy our farm/ranch of 25 acres out of Brazoria. Always something to do, fix fence, vaccinate cows, or run neighbors cows out, ha! Just did that recently! We just built our new barn/shop, huge, so Mike is a happy camper right now. Lots to do inside of it. We haven't built our new homestead yet, but are looking forward to making those plans really soon! We lived in Houston when Michael was born and stayed about 5 yrs before coming down to this area. Lived in Richwood TX for 30 yrs and still have the home, my mother lives in it. We have had a great life and done lots together over the years. We were back and forth to Bay City for years and years since Mike's family all lived over that way until a few years back. When his Mom Eva Gassen Hancock passed away we tried to keep the house but too much running back and forth and upkeep so we had to sell it. All our family has left Bay City now. Mike passes through on his way to Hunting trips and to Jurek's in Markham where he has his meat processed. Look forward to comm...(read more) |
