Whoops

OK folks, we are embarrassed to report that two of our Class of '71 Bearcats who we had listed on the "Gone but not forgotten List" are neither gone nor forgotten. In other words, we screwed that list up again. Lionel Burgess is alive and well and Robert Gary Heckman is also alive and kicking. We apologize for our "sloppy" work in putting that list together and vow to do better in the future. Needless to say, we will use a stricter system of verification when someone reports a passing classmate. Again, sincerest apologies to Lionel and Gary.....so glad you are with us. We hope to see you on OCT. 11 at the Homecoming/60th Birthday Party.

The class of 71 and 72 recommends

FYI, We would like to recommend a great photographer for Class Reunions and events: Maurice Moorehead, CPSS Drop-In Director Justice In Mental Health OrganizationCell: (517) 371-4661 ext 306 mohead215@yahoo.com.

He has done a great job for us at our past two Reunions and will be at our 60th Birthday party taking pictures that he can provide right on the spot. He puts on a digital show, during the Reunion that includes pictures from past and present and puts on a fun show, STARRING US. The class of '72 had him for their Reunion and he was wonderful as always.

He is a BC Central Alumni. So all classes of BCCHS give him a call and your Committee will love his offer of a top of the line service that will greatly enhance your Reunion Fun. And I must mention he is a fun guy, a sweetheart and true gentleman.

The Undefeated1954 BCC Bearcat

In 1954 BCC was in the 'Six-A' conference battling the likes of Grand Rapids Eastern, Sexton and Ann Arbor Pioneer for the league title. Ann Arbor came to town in the fifth game of the season riding a three year 28 game win streak. The Powerful Pioneers were State Champions and Battle Creek Central was undefeated through four games. The table was set for a gladiator battle that would go down in history as one of the greatest games in BCC lore. Centrals defense was like a fortress, frustrating the Pioneers vaunted air and ground attack. Battle Creek had no answer though, as they were stymied time and time again inside enemy territory. The game ended in a 0-0 tie! Central and Pioneer went undefeated that season and tied for the conference title. The clash of the Titans was a stand off. Everyone left that game with respect and appreciation for each other and the evolving game of American football.

BCCHS Makes Playoffs 2008

The Bearcats of BBC made the MHSAA playoffs with a stunning 2 game win streak at the end of the season. Battle Creek defeated 7-0 Portage Central and then a good Portage Northern team to squeeze in. They now face 9-0 Grand Ledge on Halloween night. 10-27-08

BCCHS Ranked #1 in Football

The Bearcats of Battle Creek Central were ranked #1 in the pre-season area football poll by the Enquirer. Unfortunately the team lost there first game of the season to State power house Jackson Lumen Christi. BCCHS has a newly renovated field and stadium. Hopefuly this will spurn more wins than losses.
