About	Hickory, NC Sondra K. Reed, age 60, of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away January 15, 2023 at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California. She was born to the late Elmer and Erma Collins. Sondra graduated from Bath High School in 1980. She attended and graduated from Apollo School of Nursing with honors in 2010. She loved gardening, cooking, decorating and reading. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. Sondra is survived by her loving husband Mark Reed, 2 children, 3 grandchildren and a sister.

Sondra and I were in 1st and 2nd grade together, and among the few who went to Bath their entire lives, and both going to Apollo in our respective fields. Having moved to Upstate NY early on, I returned home for hernia surgery a number of years later. (I could recover at Mom and Dad's!) I came out from anesthesia and was talking with this good looking nurse who had a constant smile. After a few minutes of conversation, I asked, "Are you Sondra Collins?" and then she laughed. Of course, she already KNEW who I was! Sondra was just one of those girls that the older she got, the better looking she got. Though trough the years of school, my memory is that constant smile was one of her trademarks. She was always calm in nature, gentle, and someone you like to be around. I'm sorry to se her name listed here. It is much too soon.
