About Me | Married a guy who joined the Navy. Moved around a lot. Lived in Norfolk, VA, Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, Meridian, MS, Bermuda (4 yrs.), and Raleigh, NC before moving back home. I spent a lot of my time working with children over the years from wokring in Day Cares to having my own in home Day Care. My family and I love to bowl so I was very involved in the Young American Bowling Alliance (YABA) setting up tournaments, organizing fund raisers to help pay for travel and lodging to compete in various tournaments throught the state. The last 2 years in Meridain, MS I was President of the NAS Meridian YABA. My son played baseball, basketball, and fooltball growing up. He played football his first year of high school but his football schedule and ROTC clashed at times so he gave up football to stay in ROTC. My daughter mostly stuck to bowling and dance classes over the years. So needless to say, like most moms I kept my children very active and involved which kept me quite busy. My husband and I were also members of the Little Theatre while stationed in Bermuda. From stage work to performing. This we enjoyed very much. While in Bermuda my husband and I both worked for MWR (Marine Welfare and Recreation). This gave us the oportunity to work with the USO shows. We got to meet many celebraties. My husband husband actually lost KT Oslin and her band. They didn't meet back at the appointed time and place so he had to go back to the base without them because he had no clue where to begin looking. Long story short, the joke was on him. They were back at the base waiting when he returned. He didn't think it was very funny at the time. My job was to help with entertainment while the celebreties were there. Lucky for me, most of them liked to bowl. How many people can say they bowled with Lady Soul or Parker Bohn, III? I have experienced and been part of so many wonderful things over the years. I have so many funny and wonderful things to share with the grands when they are old enough to share it with. We moved back home in August of '98. I worked with SCDMV Headquarters in Columbia from March '99 to November '00. In December '00 when i was let go due to budget cuts. I was diagnosed with cancer. Spent many months going through surgies and treatments. In July '01 I began working with SCDOT Headquarters in theR...(read more) |
