About Me www.mwhitmore.legalshield.com (832)225-5021 I am a Wordsmith ! :-) Happy to be a YOUNG LIVING Distributor ! Just beginning to play a dulcimer... Seeking a good, used harp ! Previously had and learned to play a Celtic II (walnut) AND had a lap harp (cherry). PLZ, NO GAME REQUESTS ~~~ I don't play 'em ! "Love does not dominate, it cultivates." --- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe HAVING BEEN READ TO AS A CHILD, HAVING BEEN A MOTHER, A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AND A GRANDMOTHER, and a SERVICE COODINATOR FOR MANY CHILDREN WHO HAD DISABILITIES, I BELIEVE WHOLE-HEARTEDLY IN THE FOLLOWING : "Bedtime reading not only helps build budding minds but it also allows parents and children to form deep emotional bonds. Hopefully this nighttime ritual will return so that we can give this generation what the previous one gave us." ----- Alison Green "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made" is one of my favorite books and was given to me by my mother who was in Public Health. Advocacy was always a favorite part of my work. An aging former Upstate Western New York Girl Scout. Previously a member of the National Conference of Christian and Jews. One who loves MUSIC (and not just music appreciation but the depth of it), theatre (ACTING IN COMMUNITY THEATRE as well as watching), children, walking, people who laugh out loud (!), poetry, the beautiful wide-open spaces and trees... I have fought for inclusion of those with disabilities and will keep on in this capacity...Part of picketing in the early 90s in San Bernardino, CA for those with developmental disabilities....Now, whatever it takes educationally to wake people up regarding the Mental Health system's harmful, inappropriate 'treatments' of individuals and lack of appropriate, respectful, honor-filled treatment(s) of each individual's choice...music, for one (!)..AND also that "calling grief a psychiatric disorder deflates and dishonors the spiritual dimension of loss and grief and the sadness which is a marker of the lost love." [ Sinaikin] Grief Recovery Method Training through Sherman Oaks, California will help many people in the future ! So will American Hospice as they use the new training and book "Beyond Kubler-Ross". J. Cacciatore, through ASU is also making headway in educating people about grief AS IS Paula Caplan, MD and more ~~~ I am included in that group. Thank God people are waking up ! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHmzUwqTJs4 Written by: W.C. Handy and based on Psalm 126:5 '97-'98 -- "Designated Rider" in a USXpress truck around the U.S.A. whose duties included washing windows, getting out and eyeballing the bridges in New York state, doing laundry, sending messages on the Qualcomm, sitting in the Driver's seat when the tandems were adjusted, singing on the CB to keep people awake on their night runs, keeping the refrigerator filled with veggies ~ when they could be found ~~~ playing music to match the scenery and those Louie Lamour audio tapes in New Mexico ....Having spiritual conversations in travel centers like Cape Girardeau or Iowa 80....giving hand signals in a 'pinched' area in Texas in 117 degrees.......guarding other's laundry in Oklahoma or talking Taz in Ohio...being on the lookout for those Waffle Houses...and buying for the grandchildren in Cracker Barrel Stores (!) I believe in the motto "Nothing about us, without us!" When anyone tells you as an adult that they only want the best for you, WATCH OUT ! Do NOT let anyone take over your life, especially in your mid-life which is to be a special time in which you choose ~~~ YOU CHOOSE to make changes ~~~ and no one should interfere with that ! Grieving is a natural part of life and the process of it, should run its course with all respecting that. Spirituality experienced by some can not be fully explained. If one needs to be assisted through an emotional time in life, eCPR three steps are: C (connecting), P (emPowering) and R (revitalizing). I joined AOWAC as a spouse of a deceased Vietnam Veteran. The group is located in Long Beach, California where members continue to inform people about the medical issues connected with previous exposure to dioxins (agent orange) that was in combination with OTHER chemicals and encourage Veterans to have regular medical checkups. I miss my grown children and grandchildren who are in three different states and facebook helps somewhat in regard to that. I myself have lived in five different states; NY, NC, W.Va., CA, and AZ. Quote from WHERE TO GO FROM HERE by: James E. Birren, the first director of USC's Institute for the study of Retirement and Aging... "...trust your second nature --- the adult inside you who wants you to do better." ( pg.12 ) "Fall Down Seven Times, Get Up Eight" ----- Japanese Proverb used many times by those in Martial Arts to represent indomitable spirit (Tamashii). I focus on the Warrior Pose in yoga.......Successful people face and endure set-backs and persist in going forward one more time.... Japanese also sprinkle kelp in their food frequently which is a good thing to do for anyone who has hypothyroidism. A good book title ~~~ "A Set-back is a Set-up for a Come-back" !! "How Resilient Are You ?" Bouncing back from adversity involves strength in body, mind, and spirit and having people around you who do not underestimate you but instead BELIEVE in you and ENCOURAGE you in moving forward with positive, personal goals and while discerning what God wants you to do with your knowledge, talents, faith and abilities.... "Centering Prayer is a training in letting go." ------Thomas Keating "Some friends put laughter in our hearts..." "Laughter is music..." Desire for one more marriage in life with a particular person who is a Believer in following the teachings of Jesus (love),who is musical; want someone who understands music therapy and it's depth along with enjoyment and who can perhaps sing to me and with me or who plays piano or other instruments, hopefully with worship songs, too..., understands military culture and would be supportive of my Social Work endeavors with military families AND with the same passion for wanting improvement regarding the understanding of humans during challenging life circumstances and to help empower them ( to focus on beauty, music , outdoor space and integrative health practices; essential oils, supplements, inclusiveness/love, swimming, yoga, massage, funny movies for endorphins to flow and natural alleviation of pain and to prevent others from adding any judgement calls to others which also adds pain to others. I like BIBLE GATEWAY on computer when studying various Bible passages and desiring more insight by looking at several different translations...fascinating... "Say yes to the things that scare you but that CALL you !!" ...(read more)
