Dear Friends of Banning High School : We will be hosting the Chris Ferragamo Retirement Celebration And Dinner on July 17, 2010. The Dinner will be catered by DOMENICK’S RESTAURANT. Most of the premier football players who went on to play in college and the NFL will attend to pay tribute to Coach Ferragamo, who devoted 40 years of his life to the betterment of our community and citizens. The following legendary Banning High School All Star players have committed to attend: Jamelle Holieway Freeman McNeil Danny Reece Greg Battle Vince Ferragamo Frank Manumaleuna Jeffrey Griffin Michael Alo Steve Rivera Tyrone Rodgers Jeff Yanez Nick Garibay Harry Alo Clarence Reece Robin White Alonzo “Oogie†Bell Mike Ponce Courtney Hall And The List Is Growing …. We plan to have a carnival from July 16-18, 2010 at Avalon and PCH. A parade featuring the Banning High School Marching Band will take place on Saturday July 17 starting at 12 Noon. We will also have live music that Saturday afternoon from the nationally famous band Thee Midniters and a car show featuring THE PHAROAHS and THE ROAD KINGS Car Clubs. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold in the afternoon. The actual Ferragamo Retirement Dinner starts at 5:00 p.m., at Wilmington Christian School, located at 24910 South Avalon Boulevard, Wilmington, CA 90744 (corner of Avalon and Lomita Boulevards). The keynote speaker will be UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero, who is also a longtime Wilmington resident and alumnus of Banning High School. The Dinner will also conduct a brief tribute to George De La Torre, Jr. The Dinner will also feature a DJ for evening dancing for all. There will also be a Dance Contest, with the winning couple receiving a cash prize. Tickets for the Dinner are $25.00 per person. Tickets to enter the Dance Contest to compete for the cash prize are an additional $25.00 per couple.
