Balto. City College Class of ’71 Reunion Meeting Minutes Date: 4/13/10 Time: 6:00 pm Place: Balto. City College Library Participants: Darrell Giles, Emanuel Brown, Archie Williams, Thorton Armstead, James Conyers, Barry Powell, James Wiggins and Gregg Matthews We still need to set a date for the activities. The tentative dates are for the 2nd or 3rd weekend of August 2011. We are currently looking for a location and caterer to hold our reunion events. We have some suggestions and are still looking . . . . If anyone knows of a good location and/or caterer that could handle approx. 250 – please let us know. We are making a rough estimate of 250 to attend the banquet (that includes one guest per grad). We also plan to have a reception on the Friday prior to Saturday’s banquet. We currently are planning to hold the reception at City’s library @ 6 – this will also include a walk-thru of the “old†school. One of the most important challenges we face at this time is finding our fellow classmates. “Each one reach one†. . . Please if you know of any fellow grad not on our list – we need all of you to make the effort to get any information you can and forward this. If you ride thru his old neighborhood, or know his 3rd cousin (basically we need to use the same method as the census board) – WE NEED EVERYONES HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFUL REUNION. Of course there will be reunion dues needed to financially support this project. The amount of these dues will be sent out once we get an idea of the total cost. We will need to cover the cost of the reception, banquet, mementos for the grad and a gift to the school. Right now, we are looking at paying the dues in 3 payments – this will allow us time to prepay the vendors used for our events. More info on that later. The next meeting will be: Date: Tuesday May 4th Time: 6:00 Place: Mitchell Courthouse 100 N. Calvert St. (Lexington Street Entrance) ---- Room 509 (Judge E. Brown’s chambers) If you need to call us at the time of the meeting . . . 410-396-1776. We are inviting all grads to attend . . . . Free beer and crabs ( okay – I lied); but if it’ll work. . . . Seriously – we need help!! It’s tough for a few to plan for many – we know because of distance and schedule some can’t make it. But if you can – see you on May 4th.
