About	PFC, USMC L CO, 3RD BN, 26TH MARINES, 1ST MARDIV, III MAF While serving as a rifleman in Lima Co.,3/26 Joe was killed in action March 18,1969 after sustaining multiple wounds from grenade and small arms fire while in a night defensive position approximately 5 miles north of An Hoa in Quang Nam Province. Excerpt from USMC Command Chronologies: On March 18, 1969 at 2:45am, Lima Company received approximately (30) rounds of incoming 60mm mortars, semi-automatic and automatic weapons fire from an estimated platoon-sized enemy force. Lima Company suffered (1) USMC KIA (Joe Torreros) & (4) USMC WIA. Returned fire with all organic weapons, called in artillery and air mission with negative results.
