Tony Lordi

Class of 1970

It was January 1970 and I just turned 18 and along with 2 former Classmates & friends who lived directly accross the street from me Greg Crowl & Lewis Kingman we were required to register with the Selective Service for Military Service. Approx 3 months before we graduated together we all knew that College was on our minds and where we wanted to attend. Greg was to attend Mauna Ola college in Hawaii,Lewis was going to attend Redlands and my sites were set on San Bernardino, They both received scholarships and for me the classes I wanted to take were not available due to funding by the school so college for me at that time were history. I decided that the only thing to do was go into the Military and I tried for the US Air Force but was to small and the test score (very high)were best suited for the US Army. I signed up 6 weeks after graduation on the Delayed Enlistment Program and started my Active Duty exactly 2 months after I graduated. I had a 6 year obligation of 3 years Active, 3 years Reserve. Shortly before my Active Duty time was to expire I reenlisted and did another 6 years. I was to go on and make it a career and sis a total of 25 years with the Army. It came to an abrut end November 1994 when I was injured in an automobile accident when I was hit head on by a Policewoman. I severly injured both of my legs and as a result of this accident offically ended my career on August 1, 1995. As of today I am stillinvolved with the Military, I hold the Position of Vice President in our Chapter. I also earned an Associates Degree at
Mount San Antonio College in Quality Assurance and Industrial Supervison and a
Bachelors in Business Administration from UC Riverside. Haapily married the Father/Grandfather of 3 children/grandchildren reside in Kansas City MO and retired. My wife and I attend MLB games (KC Royals)Movies Concerts and enjoy going out to many different Restaraunts. I have survived 2 Cancer Operations and just found out a couple weeks ago I am a diabetic and like my Grandson tells me (8 yrs old) I am a walking time bomb about to explode at any given time.
I remain very upbeat despite my health issues and take one day at a time and enjoy my life to the fullest. In 2020 I hope to have a 50 year Class Reunion with just my Senior Class only and reunite with what friends I still might have reflect on How Life Changes.
Thanks to all who think about me, It's people like you who really care and make me feel that I am your friend. You really do not know how I much I appreciate it coming from you and for those who still talk negative about me I just walk away saying to myself " I really don't know you at all".The picture you are viewing is The Lordi Clan that graduated from BPHS Tony (class of 1970), Elaine (Class of 1967), Christine (Class of 1972), and Lisa (Class of 1978).
