On Monday, January 10, 2011, age 68, of Venetia was suddenly taken from all he ever touched and loved. He was born in Coy, PA, Son of the late Stephen G. and Stephanie (Plizga) Mizerak. Steve graduated from Homer City High School in 1960 and IUP in 1967. He spent his entire career as a dedicated and respected teacher at Baldwin Whitehall High School where he taught World Cultures and History and coached football. Steve had been President of the Baldwin Federation of Teachers. He designed and constructed a Drivers Education course for Baldwin Whitehall School District. Steve was President of the American Legion Golf League in Pleasant Hills. He was a self-taught builder who designed and built his own home during summer breaks from teaching. He cherished spending time with his two Shelties, Maddie and Hayley. Steve enjoyed retirement to the fullest with weekly rounds of golf and get away weekends with dear friends. He was the most loving, supportive and patient husband to wife, Marce. They enjoyed travel to Williamsburg, Aruba and Sanibel Island, with their most treasured trips to San Francisco and Pebble Beach. Steve was an opinionated Democrat, even when surrounded by his family of Republicans. He enjoyed hundreds of hours of "historical" discussions with his late mother-in-law, Lois Creedon, a fellow Democrat. Steve will be so sadly missed by all who ever met him. He leaves this world as a very caring, kind and truly remarkable man. Everyone who knew him accepted who he was and respected his wishes. Steve is also survived by his sisters, Bernadine Brisky, Dorothy (Robert) Moreau and Rita (Ronald) Kull as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Services and Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd, Renfrew, PA 16053. Please add and view tributes at www.beinhauer.com.
