About | Karen Pesyna Age 76, of Cranberry Township, passed away on February 9, 2025. Karen was the daughter of the late Karl and Edna (née Wilson) Knobel Sr.; beloved mother of Tiffany (Jeff) Mikesic of McCandless and Norman (Jeanne) Aiman of Virginia; cherished grandmother of Cathryn Aiman, Alexis Aiman, Kyla Mikesic, and Trevor Mikesic; and dear sister of Kurtis (Connie) Knobel Sr., Kristine (Dennis) Henley, and Kevin Luster. She was preceded in death by her brother, Karl Knobel, Jr. Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met. She adored her grandchildren more than anything and treasured every moment spent with them. A lifelong book lover, she enjoyed reading and sharing stories. She preferred texting over calling, always keeping in touch with her loved ones in her own way. Karen had a deep love for the beach, warm weather, and all things Christmas-especially collecting Victorian Santa figurines and gnomes. She was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Giant Eagle for 40 years, working at the Pine Creek, McIntyre Square, and Parkway Center locations before her retirement. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was evident throughout her life, as she cared for many beloved pets over the years. She also had a passion for movies, both watching them at home and going out to the theater. Karen enjoyed dressing up and going out, making every occasion special. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Simons Funeral Home, 7720 Perry Highway, where a Memorial Service will be held at noon to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen’s memory to Paws Across Pittsburgh Animal Rescue at www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com. |
