Gary S. Birch, age 59, of Toledo, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010, in Flower Hospital. He was born May 1, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Howard and Marilyn Birch. A U.S. Marine Veteran, he served his country in Vietnam. Gary enjoyed a career in the food service industry, loved art and had a passion for music. His greatest passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, Alex, Madison and Ben. Also surviving is his loving wife, Sheryl; sons, David (Jodie) and Jason (Anita) Birch; mother, Marilyn Birch; brother, Steven Birch; sister, Melanie Birch; mother-in-law, Ruth Varley; sister-in-law, Valerie Hamilton and nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the family at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Thursday after 10 AM where memorial services will follow at 12 Noon. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio 30000 River Rd. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
