Obituary for Dawn Headley-Muschell
Dawn Headley-Muschell, age 59, of Milledgeville, Georgia, passed away at 11:00pm on July 31, 2016 from complications resulting from breast and bone cancers. She was born Dawn Ellen Headley on November 10, 1956 in Washington, DC. Dawn lived in Swainsboro, GA for approximately the last decade of her life before losing her final battle with cancer.

Dawn lived in Milledgeville, GA for most of her life, attending Baldwin County High School before becoming a member of the first female class of Darlington High School in Rome, Georgia. She attended Georgia College & State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education in December 1996. She proudly spent many years teaching in various capacities and was loved dearly by her students.

Dawn was a naturally-talented artist who absolutely loved water-color painting, drawing, photography and a multitude of other crafts. She was well-known among her friends and social media circles for her love of the arts, nature, music and her passion for creativity.

Dawn is survived by her mother (Jane B. Payne), her brothers (Brad, Brett, and Dean Headley), and her son and daughter (Todd Headley and Anna Cooper). Dawn was preceded in death by her father (Dr. William M. Headley) and her sister (Kimberley Ann McMullen), who had also beaten cancer 3 times before it eventually returned to take her life as well.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in Dawn’s honor to the American Cancer Society (Cancer.org), or the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held for Dawn at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory located at 1670 North Jefferson Street, Milledgeville, GA, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11am. All who knew Dawn are strongly encouraged to attend and any persons that would like to speak and share a memory will be welcome to do so.
