About Me I am a deep thinker, but I also have a light, silly side. I am a fighter - A fighter for what I believe is right and within myself - always challenging myself beyond the place that I am at that moment, spiritually, physically, and intellectually. I am a Christian. I love my God with all my heart and my God is Jesus Christ. This is the most important and valued part of who I am. I am an American. I love this great nation and the ideals and beliefs it was originally built upon. May we one day return to those ideals. I love my family and I love people. I believe there is a special significance to every relationship we have and that every person whom we meet is not by accident, but for a special purpose. Of life, I believe this: that time is fleeting so there is no better time than now to live out our dreams. I believe it is our Heavenly Father who gives us our dreams and that it is His brilliant way of showing us what we are meant to do. He reveals our gifts or skillfully stirs a passion in our souls that is to become our life's purpose. Unfortunately, most of us miss our calling because we are so busy doing what we HAVE to do rather than pursuing that passion which will free us to do what we DREAM to do. Along the way, it seems our dreams are sustined by hope if we are wise enough to realize them, but ultimately without stepping out on faith, it is fear that will destroy them. So, I thoughtfully consider this everyday: It is wise to do what you have to do, but once in a while you should do what you WANT to do. There is a PURPOSE in our passions...this is something I am still learning. I have dedicated my life's work to working with children with special needs through the art of pediatric occupational therapy. I have a particular interest in dyslexia and a love for the children who struggle with it, especially my own son. I am passionate about the study of dyslexia, and it is an honor to share the focus of my career with being a dyslexic interventionist and dyslexia disability "preventionist" through dyslexia awareness and education, support, and treatment...(read more)
