Graduation Year Class of 1967
Date of Passing Sep 25, 2018
About Brian Moreth died two days shy of his 69th birthday, and just a few days after his 49th Wedding Anniversary. He was married to Janice (Shondel) Moreth, a member of the Avonworth Class of 1968.
Family, church and the environment were important to Brian. As the 1967 DeRebus noted, he was an intelligent person who loved the outdoors. As he wrote for the Class of 1967 Memory Book, he made his love of the outdoors into a career. He was an environmental scientist concerned with preserving nature. He was a volunteer on several committees for the Town of McCandless, where he made sure his hometown made decisions with the environment in mind.
Toby Cordek, the Town Manager of McCandless said: “Brian gave of himself to the residents of the Town of McCandless with boundless dedication. He made more meetings than any of us. And contributed. He shared his knowledge, love of people and the environment most graciously. He was the most constructive critic I/we have ever had-- always insightful and well meant. McCandless is a better place because of Brian. We already miss him. But he left an indelible mark of service on us all.”
