| About Me | Current bucket list projects: 1) Well, I completed an Appalachian Trail adventure, which I call a "NoBo SoBo Daily YoYo", meaning I'thru-hiked' all of the Appalachian Trail both ways (4368.4 miles) within the calendar year 2012 by stringing together day-hikes. This is a part of a larger project I call my "Personal Continuous Footpath", which connects my footsteps to places I've lived and places I love. In 2013 I plan to do some hiking on North Carolina's premier trail: The Mountains-to-Sea Trail, which comes within about fifteen miles of my beach-front home. 2) Continuing to write an epic, distant-future saga called 'Ice King: The Last Son of God'' It's a life work ('magnum opus' as they say), and about three-quarters done. It's way too long to contain in one volume (600,000+ words), so I'm still cogitating on how to offer it to the public. It's set in 635,039AD. Humanity has finally figured most things out - but now a new ice age has arrived and is smothering the planet. And a new race of post-human creatures is hell-bent on eradicating 'primitive man'. The last humans cling to ancient prophecy: “The Seventh Shepherd will save us!” Young Adam Gale has a special gift--connecting directly with the spirit world. Many believe him to be the prophesied savior. But will he accept his destiny and grow into his role in time to rescue humanity from extinction?
