Phil was my best friend at the end of our education at Aviation High. He and I both left for the University of Colorado upon graduation. After graduation from CU, I left for work in Alaska and got drafted during the Vietnam War. After that, we renewed our friendship through visits and correspondence. I returned to Alaska, and Phil married and stayed in Colorado. His passing still saddens me greatly to this day. The photo below was taken at JFK on the day of our departure to the University of Colorado.
