About Me	I attended Northwestern College from 1978-1982 and was involved in choir, basketball, and tennis. After graduating I taught elementary PE/Science and coached volleyball & basketball at Boyden-Hull. In 1984 I accepted a teaching job at Spencer, teaching MS PE and coaching volleyball & basketball. I met my husband, Gary, when I was coaching volleyball and he was officiating. (He had a difficult time focusing on his job after Doug Conard introduced the two of us!) We married in July of 1985. I've continued teaching in Spencer for the past 26 years. We have four children: Allie (Insurance Rep. in Denver, CO), Shanda (Dental Asst. in West Des Moines), Leah (Cosmetologist in West Omaha), Austin (Grad. from Clay Central-Everly HS in May '10 and will attend Morningside College in Aug.). We've kept busy with work, church activities, and all of the activities that a small school has to offer. We're fortunate that our children were able to experience the same opportunities that we had growing up in rural NW Iowa.
