AHS alumni releases new book about Haitian missionary: �Give Your Best�

Several years before an earthquake permanently ravaged Haiti, one man committed his Christian missionary work to life in a village called Gramothe. I wrote the new book �Give Your Best� (ISBN 1452844674), to introduce readers to Willem Charles, a missionary who brings his fellow Haitians the message of Jesus Christ.

In the book, I chronicle the life of Charles, who founded Haiti�s Mountain Top Ministries (MTM), which serves the region through its schools, church and medical clinic. From his difficult childhood and early failures in missionary work to his stint as a translator on CNN and participation with Haiti�s national soccer team, Charles� story is one of determination despite incredible odds.

Readers will discover a new awareness of how trans-cultural issues affect missionary work and how North American influence affects third-world nations. Charles� warmth, insight, personal strength and spirituality are told through a history of Haiti and an investigation into how one village was impacted by one man.
