About Me	Enough to write my own book, I would think! I was married to Patric Ashby, the father of my two children, for 23 years from 1968 through 1991. (Still a good friend, Patric died in November 2020.) Later, I made the typical "mistake" marriage and dealt with the resulting nasty and expensive divorce ending that marriage in 1995. Glen Ward came back into my life and we were married in Wailua, Kauai, Hawaii in 2004. We were together happily for over ten years, but two weeks after our seventh wedding anniversary, Glen died unexpectedly on MLK Jr. Day at OHSU Hospital in Portland of a massive stroke in 2011. With all of our mutual experiences, compatible values, shared knowledge and years of Ashland history, we were soul mates. I miss him dearly. I worked for Sears, Mt. Ashland Corporation, three different family businesses, Pacific Northwest Bell for 9 years (Telephone Operator, Order Typist and Customer Service Representative, Telephone Employees Activity Association Representative) before returning to college at Linfield in McMinnville, near my then Salem home. After graduation in 1985, I moved to the Sacramento area and began a progressive management career in the financial institution industry (CapFed, SF Federal, Wells Fargo) after several very interesting and eclectic temporary jobs and before moving into an entry administration/management position with the County of Sacramento Health Department. After living in the Greater Sacramento area for 20 years and several promotions and function changes later, I "retired" from a senior labor relations position in human resources management with the county's Department of Human Assistance in 2005 to spend more time with Glen. We spent as much time as we could in Hawaii, but also travelled to family events and interesting functions with friends from coast-to-coast. I miss Glen's music performances, riding behind him on his Harley, his zest for life, his delightful wit, his many skills, depth of knowledge, Masonic values, and his delightful companionship. I have returned to California's Central Valley full-time to be near my children and grandchildren. I have travelled extensively for pleasure as well as business. I even resided in Europe with my last in-laws (in Glen's place) over the summer of 1967. Although I have been all over North America and Western Europe, I have definitely developed a preference for the islands of Hawaii and I have many dear friends and "ohana" there. I return every chance I get. I have toured 7 of the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children, so far. I am a regular contributor, volunteer and visitor at the hospitals in Honolulu, Portland and Sacramento. I started using computer systems in 1972 under the tutiledge of "Ma Bell" and can no longer imagine life without computer technology! Now, I often have two or more computer devices working for me at one time and I am retired!
