About	Rick died in Medford, Oregon from complications of diabetes. Rick loved the outdoors and spent his earlier years out of high school as a paramedic, and worked his later years at Howard Prairie Lake Resort in Ashland, where he loved to fish. Despite his diagnosis and challenges with diabetes, he walked for miles and managed to indulge in Mexican food whenever possible. He took pride in fishing and participating in the fishing derby at Howard Prairie for the Disabilities Recreation Project. Rick enjoyed family gatherings and took pride in teaching his two nephews how to fish and start a campfire. He loved being an uncle. Rick will be greatly missed and remembered for his strong will and kind and loving spirit. He was deeply loved. His memorial service was held at the end of the Howard Prairie Jetty, on a beautiful sunny day, with years of friends and family honoring his life.
