Susan Rogers Obituary
Susan Marie Rogers passed away on December 31, 2018 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Susan was 60 when she died peacefully in her Severna Park home surrounded by family.

The former Susan Hawkins, born in Hyattsville and raised in Gambrills, was the daughter of Carlyle Hawkins, and his wife, Helen Hawkins. She attended Arundel High School and graduated in 1976. Afterward, she went on to receive her nursing degree from UMBC and had a long career as a nurse with Anne Arundel County and the State of Maryland. Susan married her high school sweetheart, Richard M. Rogers, Jr. in 1982 and was happily married for 36 years. She loved to spend her time shopping and decorating. Susan had a deep love of her family and grandchildren and was a strong, kind-hearted, caring and generous woman.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Richard M. Rogers, Jr., her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Christine Rogers, her daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Paul Bates, and her 5 grandchildren, Benjamin, Leah, Donovan, Miles and Ruth. She is also survived by her mother, Helen Hawkins, her sisters Diana Nettles and Kathy Stolzenbach, her brothers Michael Hawkins and William Hawkins, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Friday January 4, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis, MD 21401. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 9:00 AM at St. John Neuman Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD 21401. A private burial is to follow.
