Graduation Year Class of 1971
Date of Passing Aug 12, 2020
About Sandy died in Houston in August 2020 from a heart attack and other medical issues. She left two daughters and three grandchildren. Sandy and I moved to Houston in 1986. She went to University of Houston Law School and graduated in 1991. She had just retired a year before her death from her job as a Senior Attorney at Veterans Affairs. Prior to this job she was an Assistant District Attorney in Houston where she tried over 132 criminal trials. Over the years she spoke five languages, primarily Spanish and French. She loved Paris and had seven trips over the years. In the last years of her life, she became a Buddhist. When she died our son-in-law was the executor and he lives in Northville, Michigan with our three grandchildren. Her ashes are at a Buddhist Temple in Michigan. --Submitted by Jay Cawley (Sandy's husband)

So sorry to hear the passing of Sandra. We were friends while I lived in Clark till my family moved to California in 1965. Sandra and I went through elementary school together, we were in the same class from kindergarten to Mrs. Pitch's 6th grade class. She was so sweet and beautiful. She was my first crush, I liked her very much. Over the years I often wondered whatever happened to Sandra. I had contacted someone who knew Sandra and they said she moved to Texas but that was all the information that person had. Even now at 72 years old I was thinking about Sandra. I stumbled on this site and found the sad news. Sandra was my first love even though I do not believe she knew it. We were both way too young. Sandra had an impact on my life even though it was very innocent but still strong enough to last till 2026. Jay, you have my deepest condolences and please send my condolences to your family.
