Jim Ford was a man of a million stories and the sharpest sense of humor you were ever likely to find. He loved singing with his family in restaurants, traveling with his wife, and rescuing Yorkshire terriers. He was known throughout the world for his decades of work with Amspec, LLC; growing his company from a tiny office and lab in Linden, NJ to a worldwide business. Jim was also known locally for serving on the board of the Salvation Army’s Elizabeth/Linden board and the local Elizabeth school district’s Board of Education for many years. Even with his many accomplishments, Jim believed his most important work was his tireless dedication to AA, mentoring as many sponsees as he could, and founding Cheers Clubhouse in Roselle. In his final days, Jim received his chip for 40 years of sobriety while surrounded by family and friends; dozens of whom thanked him for personally saving their lives.

Jim always called New Jersey, “God’s Country” and that is where he passed peacefully at the age of 71. He was predeceased by his parents: Frank and Claire, his brother Tom, and his sister Mary Nolan. Jim is survived by his wife Missy, his three children: Kellie, Jim Jr., and Meaghan, his two grandchildren: Alexis and John Anthony, his sister Claire Silber, his brother Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews.
