Arlington Mission Trip

Arlington high school students have a unique opportunity to participate on mission teams. Over the years, we have organized several mission trips to places such as Give Kids the World (Make A Wish) in Orlando, Honduras, and Hurricane Katrina recovery in New Orleans.
Andy Gann, our campus minister, has organized a mission opportunity for 15 ACS students to participate in the Casas por Christos (Houses for Christ) project. Our team of students and parents will be traveling to El Paso and then going by van into Mexico. They will be responsible for building one single-family house for a needy family. Several of our local churches, Ramah Baptist and Bethlehem Baptist, have previously participated in Casas por Christos. Arlington's own Mrs. Gann attended a mission trip during college.
Each team is responsible for paying for their own travel and living expenses for the week, $750, as well as the cost of the house they will construct. If our Arlington community could help the 15 members with $273 each, the team will be able to cover the $4,100 cost of building the house.
If you feel God moving you and your family to help our team pay for the cost of the house they will be constructing, please make your donations payable to Arlington Christian School and mark it for Casas por Christos! We do have a deadline of Nov. 14. The mailing address is: 4500 Ridge Road, Fairburn, GA 30213. Your donation is tax deductible.
Thank you for your help!

Softball Team 2nd In State

Arlington Christian's varsity softball team finished as GISA Class AA runner-up Oct. 18 Final Four competition in Cordele. The Lady Eagles wrapped up a succesful season by battling through the loser's bracket with a pair of victories before falling to state champion Brentwood, 4-2, in the state finals.
It was our second trip to the state championship. Despite dropping the team's tournament opener 6-5 to Bulloch Academy on a game-winning run in the botton of the seventh, Arlington reeled off a 4-0 win over LaGrange Academy and a 7-5 win over Bulloch.
The shutout over LaGrance brought a huge boost of confidence, and Sophomore pitcher Blair Byrom gave her all for Arlington. In the rematch against Bulloch, Arlington trailed 2-0 before rallying to tie the game in the second inning. After Bulloch went ahead again by two runs, Meghan Downes crushed a three-run homer to give the Lady Eagles their first lead of the game.
When Bulloch loaded the bases freshman Sydney Pepin gloved a liner to right field to preserve the lead. In the top of the seventh, Arlington and Downes put the game away with a two-run blast that slammed against the leftfield scoreboard. Depsite allowing another run, Byron shut Bulloch down in the seventh to propel Arlington to the finals against a rested Brentwood team.
