About Event
Please make plans to join us for our 45th Class Reunion to be held Friday & Saturday, July 16-17, 2010 in Indianapolis. We have every reason to believe this will be our most exciting and eventful class reunion we have held yet. The reunion will culminate Saturday at the spacious NCAA Hall of Champions in White River Park where we hope to have 300 alums, spouses and former teachers join us for interactive games, dinner and a terrific dance. Current plans include: Thursday, July 15: Arlington Tour Has it perhaps been more than four decades since you walked the halls of AHS? Join us and members of the Arlington staff for a brief tour of the facilities and grounds and relive old memories setting in a chem lab or taking jump shots in the gym. Do you think you can find your old locker? Following our last reunion two dozen alums took a nostalgic tour of the school and thoroughly enjoyed it – you will also! Friday, July 16 : Golf, Tours, Cocktail Party Friday will include two very different daytime events for you to participate with and an evening cocktail party. You might wish to join a group of “senior†hackers and play golf at Noblesville’s Sagamore Club (www.thesagamoreclub), named one of the Top 10 best new courses in America in 2004. Warning: the course is not for the feint of heart – but truly is one of the most enjoyable tracks in all of Indiana. If you’re not a duffer, join us for tours of the White River Park area (www.in.gov/whiteriver). The Park now includes the Indiana State Museum, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the Indianapolis Zoo, the Imax Theater, the White River Canal, the NCAA Hall of Champions (headquarters of the NCAA) and the spacious White River Park Lawn. The New York Times has called the Park Indianapolis’ version of the Washington Mall. If you haven’t been to tour the area, you have missed a great attraction. No reason to miss this one! In the early evening join us for a cocktail party at the new Marriott Hotel, , a portion of which opens in late winter 2010 and located across the street from White River Park. As in years past, this party is open to all alums, spouses and former teachers – and there’s no program activity planned. Just spend time reacquainting yourself with many long lost friends – or make some new ones. In years past, this party has always drawn accolades for a great way to just “break the ice†after so many years away from former friends. Saturday, July 17: Reunion Dinner & Dance The highlight of the weekend is the dinner / dance planned for Saturday at the NCAA Hall of Champions (www.ncaahallofchampions.org). Doors will open at 5PM so that you might tour the many exhibits and interactive games and kiosks. Shoot baskets on the floor of the “Hoosiers†gym, play virtual golf, football or tennis, watch a movie of NCAA history – or just tour the Hall’s many exhibits honoring college sports heroes. After a great dinner, we will have arranged for a “name†local band to spend the remainder of the evening with. Bring your cameras, there will lots of photo ops for your memories!!!! Contributions / Sponsorships: We have many alums who have graciously donated as sponsors to our reunion to defray the costs of renting the facilities and paying for the band and other costs of holding a reunion. We still need sponsors! Please feel free as an alum to become an honored sponsor of the event by donating to: Arlington Class of 1965 11340 Glentrace Dr., #505 Indianapolis, IN 46236 Registration: Registration information and prices for the events will not be available until early spring 2010. Please return to this website often to check for updates as they develop.
