About	Peter P. Engel, 55, a lifelong area resident, died on Monday, May 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Beloved son of Hale Travis and Paula L. (Puff) Engel, he was born on January 30, 1960 in Poughkeepsie. Peter was a graduate of Arlington High School and SUNY Albany. He was employed by Beekman Golf as an Assistant General Manager and Head Golf Professional. Peter enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and going on cross country motorcycle trips. In addition to his parents, Peter is survived by his sister, Kathi Skellan and her companion Peter Longobardi; his nephew, Michael Morabito; his aunt, Jeanette Engel; and many cousins. He was predeceased by other family members, especially his brother-in-law, James Skellan. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction and Thursday from 10 – 11 am at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Donations may be made in Peter’s memory to the foundation he established during his courageous battle with cancer, “Through the Green of Life Cancer Foundation” and mailed c/o McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Jct., NY 12533.
