She has been married to the same wonderful man, John since 1978, and together they are the very proud parents of two very bright and beautiful children. Their daughter, Mandy has her doctorate in Pharmacy and has blessed them with two beautiful grand children. Their young son, Michael loves sports and being an “Uncle”. After living in Germany, Mary Alice followed her active duty, army husband to Ft. Benning, Georgia in 1984. John has since retired and they have made the Tri–City area their home. Mary Alice enjoys many types of sewing, arts and crafts, baking and playing games with her son and grand children. Mary Alice received her diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing from the Decatur School of Practical Nursing in Decatur, Illinois in 1979. She later received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Chattahoochee Valley State Junior College in 1989, where she also received the monetary “Florence Nitengale” award in Nursing. Mary Alice is pursuing her BSN. Mary Alice has been an Oncology Certified Nurse through the Oncology Nursing Society since May 1994. Her experience includes working in Oncology ( the care of cancer patients ), Community Education, Medical – Surgical Nursing, Dermatology and as a Certified Diabetic Educator. She has been employed by Columbus Regional Healthcare System since 1991 and is currently a Clinical Coordinator with the John B. Amos Cancer Center. Mary Alice has been a Girl Scout Leader and volunteer, Ft. Benning School Board Representative, American Lung Association Volunteer, Vice President of Cancer Control and serves as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She is ...(read more) |
