This triumph was followed up by her selection as the 1983 Playboy Playmate of the Year, an achievement that increased her prominence.

Gravatte's modeling career soon expanded to include acting. She made cameo appearances in various music videos including "Something to Grab For" by Ric Ocasek in 1983 and "No Tellin' Lies" by Zebra in 1984.
