ohn Granvil Bates passed away on February 23rd, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona.

John was born on July 11th, 1946 to parents Granvil Edward Bates and Ara Blanche Graves Bates in St. Louis, Missouri.

He worked in the environmental field for over 30 years and will be missed greatly by the community, as he was well known among the real estate and restoration companies throughout the state for his vast knowledge of the mold industry.

John, a respected Air Force veteran, was a happy, go-lucky guy, and often found friends everywhere he went. He loved to keep in touch with all the great people he met. He enjoyed fishing and smoking his BBQ's (with his personal touch) and sharing them with many.

He had lifetime dreams of fishing throughout his retirement years. He was a true friend to all he knew.
