| About | Here is Mr. Glancy's obituary. H passed away in 2013. "John Richard Glancy came into this world on September 7, 1930, his mother's birthday. He grew up in Los Angeles with his parents, Edward and Elizabeth, and his two older sisters: Jeannie and Betty. After four years of service in the Air Force, he met Anne, his wife of 58 years, on a blind date in San Francisco. John was a born teacher, which he made official by earning his degree at San Francisco State College. Fifteen years of teaching followed, two of which were spent in Finland where he worked with adults. Life shifted and Anne and John, along with their two children, Douglas and Nadia, went into business, owning a Laundromat and two pottery shops for many years. Other adventures followed, each one bringing the family further north. John loved and excelled at the game of golf. His prize student was his granddaughter, Julia. John packed much into his 83 years of life. He had absolutely no regrets. He leaves a very large hole in the family structure."
