Gjon's death was reported on several web sites, but the cause was not revealed. Gjon was married to Anna Cappa in 1970 in California. His nickname was "Tom" according to one source. At Aragon, Gjon was a member of the Block A which recognizes outstanding athletic achievements. This is all the information that is available at this time, but research is ongoing about Gjon's life and times. Note that his senior photo shows his last name is spelled as Pauson, but his junior photo has the spelling of Pawson.

Gjon was survived by his brother Eric C. Pawson, but sadly, he passed away in 2008. Eric attended San Mateo High School.
