| About | Mr. Gregory was a business teacher at Aragon. He lived until age ninety-six! Mr. Gregory's place of birth is unknown at this time. He was buried alongside his wife, Elsa Amelia, in Monument Hill Memorial Park in Woodland, California. Mr. Gregory was a former school district superintendent in 1939. That story is linked below. The photo here is from Ancestry.com from a yearbook, but the grade, school, and year were not stated. This site also shows his draft card and that his rank was as an Airman. https://cdnc.ucr.edu/?a=d&d=SESU19390105-01.2.34&e=-------en--20--1--txt-txIN-------- Here is the link to Mr. Gregory's Find a Grave site: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/156176305/elwyn-hunter-gregory One last interesting link shows Mr. Gregory writing to Chief Justice Earl Warren about the internment of Japanese American citizens, but his point is difficult to ascertain as his letter is a bit blurry. https://archives.sos.ca.gov/Items/Details/53489 Mr. Gregory was survived by a son and one brother. Rest in peace, Mr. Gregory, and thank you for your service to America and to your dedication to our education. |
