About Here are edited passages PE teacher Anthony Vial's Legacy obituary:

"Long-time coach and educator Silvano Vial was delivered from this life into the next in the presence of the family he so loved. Supported, as he had always been, chiefly by his beloved wife, Maria, as well as his children, he struggled mightily against ALS in his final years, conceding nothing but what we all must."

"He was a disciplined and accomplished athlete at Serra High School and the University of Idaho, but he very rarely spoke of personal records or victories...his teammates at the University of Idaho football program elected him team captain in only his sophomore year. This spirit animated his entire approach to coaching and teaching at Aragon High School, College of San Mateo, the Italian national soccer coaching academy, Cañada College, and Red Morton Community Center."
