Marchi a much-loved left this world for "somewhere over the rainbow" on April 3, 2012, after a year-long battle with cancer. Born on May 31, 1930, to San Francisco natives Geronima (Cavallero) and Ugo Marchi, Joe graduated from Mission High School and SF State and earned a Masters Degree from Columbia. His lifelong love of teaching began with English and continued with impassioned and popular programs on American Musical Theatre on campuses and social centers across the Bay Area. Joe loved family, friends, flowers, pasta, travel, theatre, music, and literature.
