Mrs. Hilpisch was the school nurse in Aragon's beginning years. Below is her obituary.
"Yolande "Lonnie" S. Hilpisch Born in Portland, OR, Mar. 4, 1913. Graduated from Mt. View High School 1929, Stanford University 1933, and Stanford Nursing School with her RN in 1935. Married to Carl K. Hilpisch in 1937 at the Stanford Chapel and moved to Belmont in 1941. While working as school nurse at Carlmont and Aragon High Schools, she attained her masters degree in public health nursing from UCSF. Lonnie retired as school nurse in 1977 from the College of San Mateo and has traveled extensively and led a very active retirement. She died peacefully at her home in Belmont, on May 19, at the age of 94. She leaves three daughters, Ann Fielding of Hawaii, Hensl Lisé of Belmont and Betty Jo Byrne of Los Altos; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren."
