Mark was a Vietnam veteran and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. He was born in Los Angeles and died in Santa Clara. These locations are, most likely, the counties in which Mark's sunrise and sunset occurred.
He was interred in Oakwood Memorial Park in Santa Cruz.
