About	Dean Alan Blust died March 10, 2011, in Juneau, Alaska. Dean was born to Kenneth and Dolores Blust on Jan. 4, 1949, in Everett, Wash., where he attended school until the family moved to Taiwan in 1963 for two years. When the family returned to the U.S., they moved to San Mateo, Calif., where Dean graduated from Aragon High School in 1967 and attended community college. He earned a Bachelor of Arts at Chico State College in 1971 and later moved to Lake Tahoe to pursue teaching skiing. He reconnected with and married Christina Hine, a close family friend since childhood, and gained a daughter in Annie in 1988. In 1994 they moved to Juneau, where he was a specialty tile contractor for 17 years. Dean loved living in Alaska and spending time with friends and family on the water fishing in their boat Frigga. He was also active in the Human Rights Commission of Juneau. His family wrote “Dean knew many people from working in their homes and anywhere he worked, he left his customers as a friend. When the family came to Alaska it was their ‘great adventure.’ Dean was beloved by so many, and he will be greatly missed and never forgotten.”
