About	George William Andreasen was born on June 2, 1949, in Lebanon, OR, and passed away in Alturas, CA, at the age of 72 on August 10, 2021. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. George was adopted in Lebanon, Oregon, by two loving parents. Mildred Wolfe and George Erik Andreasen brought 'Georgie' to his new home in San Mateo, CA. With his father and uncle both serving on the San Mateo Police Department, George grew up with a profound sense of fairness, and the value of honesty. As a young man, George had an endless fascination with fast cars, aircraft, machining, history, and firearms. George had countless projects and wild ideas about what was possible, and he shared this passion with his friends throughout his school years. George graduated from Aragon High School, San Mateo, CA. George was able to re-connect with many of his friends later in life, some of whom shared wonderful stories of their time together. George moved to Alturas, CA, in 1993, where he met his wife, Marcella. As a telephone splicer and repairman, many in Alturas knew George as a friendly and tireless worker who would rise to any challenge and get the job done. George served the people of Alturas as a city councilman, and then served as the town's Mayor for two terms. George cared deeply for his community, and worked to advance projects that would improve the lives and prospects for everyone. With a keen intellect, sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor, George never looked down on anyone, and was always the first to offer help. George is survived by his wife, Marcella Andreasen and his three sons, Erik Andreasen, Sean Hunter and Eric Hunter. Eric Hunter and his wife Dawn gave George three grandchildren, Kylee Singleton, Bodee Hunter, and Faith Hunter. George was blessed to enjoy the birth of his first great-granddaughter, Averlee Singleton. While we mourn our loss, we remember the guidance and wisdom he gave to us all and we look forward to passing on what we learned from him. We are all better people for having known him.
