Born Mar 20, 1917, Kenneth Grant Allen was faculty at Aragon High School in San Mateo, CA.

Dr. Allen was the first principal of Aragon High School. He was "retired" in 1971. Dr. Allen was a beloved principal and a war hero.
"During W.W.II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator on a B-17 bomber based in England. After numerous flights bombing German factories, his plane was disabled over Regensberg, Germany. It coasted gradually as far as Naples, Italy where he was picked up with his crew by German soldiers and spent 23 months in a German prisoner of war camp, Stalag Luft lll in E. Germany."

Stalag Luft III was the camp of "The Great Escape" infamy, but Mr. Allen was not part of that venture. Had he been in the same barracks associated with that event, he would have been executed.
