Mark died of a heart attack at his Crystal Lake, Illinois home in 2013 shortly after attending the 40th reunion in 2012. Mark was the owner of Carquinez Insurance Agency in Benicia. He retired in Illinois to the woods he loved.

Ancestry.com states that Mark married Dianne Lemmon in Alameda, but the date is unknown at this time.
