Karen died from diabetes complications according to a family friend. She was born in San Francisco. She left behind a daughter named Jessica. Here is the text from that link: "VANN, Karen Harriet -- Age 47, died Thursday, December 28th. She passed peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, and with her daughter at her side. A revered and cherished friend, daughter, and mother, Karen was a quirky mix of wit, unconvention, selfless love and wisdom. She is survived by her mother, Marcella; and daughter, Jessica. Services will be held Sunday, December 31 st at 11:00 am at Beth Israel-Judea Congregation, at 625 Brotherhood Way in San Francisco."
Karen died in the same year as her older brother, Barry. He is listed here under the 1968 class.
