She passed peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, and with her daughter at her side. A revered and cherished friend, daughter, and mother, Karen was a quirky mix of wit, unconvention, selfless love and wisdom. She is survived by her mother, Marcella; and daughter, Jessica. Services will be held Sunday, December 31 st at 11:00 am at Beth Israel-Judea Congregation, at 625 Brotherhood Way in San Francisco." Karen died in the same year as her older brother, Barry.
