| About | I learned that Jenny Watkins, a gifted dancer, artist, and poet, passed away from cancer in February 2014. My understanding is that Jenny had been living with her sister, Heidi, in the Midwest. Many of us will remember her beautiful performances, often improvised, as part of the Aragon Modern Dance Club. Jenny died of breast cancer. We all remember her lyrical ballet improvisations, paintings, and beautiful spirit at Aragon. |

Jenny’s wonderful family lived down the street from me when I was four or five years old, and she taught my sister Andrea and me ballet/creative dance in her parent’s garage. She told us to feel the energy of the wind and the grass, and to move how they felt to us. I adored her.
When I was seven years old, I went into the hospital for weeks with an illness. Jenny sent me a Manila envelope containing a handmade painted paper doll with gorgeous painted paper tutus and exquisite costumes to play with while I was stuck in my hospital bed. She was multi talented , inspiring and very kind. I feel so lucky to have known her. ~Erica

Thank you for the kind words about Jenny! She was, indeed, a talented and beautiful person who died way too young. She touched many lives through dance, song, sign language, and art and was extremely creative! Endometrial cancer was the culprit (not breast cancer).
