KAREN KOMISAREK QUINTANA Born 8-28-51, departed Sunday July 29 at the family home in San Mateo surrounded with love. Preceded in death by Parents Leonard and Mildred, survived by daughter Nina Quintana-Williams, her spouse Mark and grandson Mateo Gabriel , born June 24. Also survived by sisters Sherry Morrish and Janell Quintana, and brothers Greg and Richard. Also survived by life companion Al Tito Quintana. She leaves her faithful dogs, Max and Elvis. Karen reluctantly retired from her dream job at Kaiser RWC as a Surgeon's Assistant when first diagnosed with IBC. Received her certification to assist in the OR from Stanford Hospital. Services will be held Saturday August 4 at 11:00 AM at St Gregory's in San Mateo.
