After high school I attended CSM. I moved into a house on Elm St in downtown San Mateo, with ladies from Pacific Palisades LA. Lots of drinking, etc. It was totally fun. Some guys who lived a block or so away (musicians from NY) had a house fire and in our well meaning drunkenness we offered a place to stay. Although it seemed like peace love and happiness on the surface I was usually getting to classes and doing my laundry and that was it as far as working on my resume. So that's how I became friends with Neal. 10 years later I''m watching MTV, caring for my invalid tree trimmer husband who fell out of a 60 ft pine tree and severely broke his leg.I had completed a drug program in downtown San Jose and on the TV screen was Neal and his 30 billion songs. Somehow, I realized I had taken the wrong fork in the road.
