What is Danny Jansen known for?

Born in Elmhurst, Illinois on April 15 1995, Danny Jansen is a professional baseball catcher known for his significant contribution to the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball. He was drafted by the Blue Jays right after high school from Appleton West High School in Appleton, Wisconsin, foregoing his college baseball commitment at Jacksonville University.

Jansen had a successful run in different minor leagues such as the Gulf Coast League, the Lansing Lugnuts, and the Buffalo Bisons. He demonstrated commendable plate discipline, showing promising statistics such as a .246 hitting average and 18 runs batted in (RBI) during his rookie season. Overcoming health and vision issues, he flourished and notably improved his performance, hitting .369 with five home runs and 18 RBI in just 31 games for the Dunedin Blue Jays.

His Major League debut came on August 13, 2018, for the Toronto Blue Jays. As of the 2023 season, he has recorded a .224 batting average, smashed 65 home runs and contributed 196 runs batted in. In addition, he played in the All-Star Futures Game in 2018, where he hit a home run.
